Akhil Akkineni upcoming movie updates and line-up

Akhil Akkineni’s career has seen several ups and downs over the years. Despite making his Tollywood debut with high expectations as the Akkineni scion, a series of setbacks have impacted his market. The biggest shock came with Agent, which, despite massive hype, turned out to be a disaster. Since then, Akhil has been carefully evaluating his next projects.

Currently, he has two films lined up—one under UV Creations and another with Annapurna Studios. However, it’s still unclear which project will go on floors first. The Annapurna Studios film is expected to begin in January next year, but pre-production is still in progress. Similarly, the UV Creations project is yet to be finalized.

Adding to the buzz, Akhil has reportedly received an exciting offer from star director Puri Jagannadh, who recently narrated a script to Nagarjuna and Akhil. Despite setbacks with Liger and Double iSmart, Puri is reworking his style and believes this film could give Akhil a solid mass makeover.

Additionally, there’s talk of a fourth project with Murali Kishore Abburu, set against a Chittoor backdrop as a period-action love drama. Reports suggest that Nagarjuna is personally invested in this film, which might also be backed by UV Creations.

With multiple projects in discussion, the big question now is—which film will Akhil lock first? Whether it’s Puri’s mass entertainer, the UV Creations biggie, or the Annapurna Studios project, Akhil needs a solid hit to re-establish his standing in the industry.
