Athade Srimannarayana is a story of a treasure hunt narrated in the form of adventure tales. Directed by Sachin Ravi, the period drama, which features Rakshit Shetty and Shanvi Srivastava, will hit screens in multiple languages on January 1.
Talking about the Pushkara-Mallikarjuniah production venture, Rakshit states, “The film is being presented in a new genre called ‘southern odd fiction’. While South-Indian cinema has witnessed several stories in the backdrop of gunslingers and cops, Athade Srimannarayana is a mix of all these films with an added flavour.”
The filmmakers, we’re told, chose to go with a fictional plot to ensure it appeals to universal audiences. Rakshit goes on to add that they have even packaged the film in a way that it has wholesome entertainment for audiences across different demographics.
“With wider platforms and more opportunities opening up for regional films, content-driven films with universal appeal can break the barriers of regional cinema. And films such as Baahubali and KGF have proved that,” states Rakshit.
