Popular comedian Prudhvi found himself at the center of controversy after his “11 goats” remark at the pre-release event of Vishwak Sen’s Laila. The comment has offended fans of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, leading to calls for a boycott of the film.
Amid escalating backlash, Prudhvi was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad, reportedly due to high blood pressure. Addressing the controversy in a media interaction, he clarified that his statement was not intended to target any political party or individual.
“I can’t help if they misinterpret my comment. I’ve been facing intense abuse for the past few days, with hundreds of calls from unknown people. Calling for a boycott of a movie is unfair. Laila will be a huge blockbuster,” Prudhvi asserted.
Directed by Ram Narayan and produced by Sahu Garapati, Laila stars Vishwak Sen and Akanksha Sharma in lead roles. The film is set for a grand worldwide release on February 14, promising an entertaining Valentine’s Day treat for audiences.
