Action hero Gopichand forthcoming spy-thriller Chanakya is gearing up for an October 5th release. Gopichand, who has been going through a lean phase in his career had pinned hopes on this film. Not effected with Gopichand’s current situation, Chanakya’s theatrical business was done for around Rs 13 crores in both Telugu states which is a decent figure.
Now, the news is that this film’s non-theatrical business has fetched another 15 crores to the makers. Getting into details, Chanakya’s Hindi dubbing rights were sold for Rs 9 crores and the film’s satellite deal was close for Rs 4 crores by Star MAA. On the other hand, the film’s digital rights are grabbed by noted digital streaming channel Amazon by offering Rs 2 crores. On the whole, Chanakya fetched Rs 15 crores to the makers which is said to be a high number considering the film’s budget.

Chanakya completed the censor formalities and received ‘U/A.’ Touted to be a spy thriller, the film is making positive buzz ahead of its release, Touted as an intense drama, Chanakya’s promos are promising and the audience are expected a good presentation from the team. On the other hand, Gopichand is also keen on delivering a good hit this time with Chanakya. Tamil director Thiru has directed Chanakya and has Mehreen and Bollywood beauty Zareen Khan as the female leads. Anil Sunkara has bankrolled the project under his AK Entertainments banner.
