Story:
Being a private school teacher, Gargi( Sai Pallavi) receives news regarding her father Brahmanandam, an apartment security guard’s arrest by the cops. What is the reason behind cops taking Gargi’s father into custody? What crime did Brahmanandam do? What will Gargi do to bail out her father from the entire mess, forms the key aspect of the film.
Merits:
Undoubtedly, Sai Pallavi did her performance-oriented role quite effectively. Her screen presence and struggle in the process of rescuing her father add realistic texture to the film. Sai Pallavi’s makeover as a typical middle-class girl is good and brings depth to the proceedings in this serious drama.
Kaali Venkat perfectly fitted in his crucial role as a lawyer. His courtroom arguments with logical presentation add a fresh vibe to the film. While young actress Aishwarya Lekshmi did her cameo role quite effectively, other supporting artists who played key roles gave a convincing performance.

Demerits:
The film is a serious social drama. It’s not that the proceedings are ruined with serious context but as the audience nowadays is coming to the theatres for entertainment, those who expect good comedy portions might disappoint
Adding to it, after the pre-climax twist, the audience will be left clueless about what happened to the intense fight done by Gargi and her lawyer Girishan. A proper detailing would have brought better output.
Technical Crew: As Gargi deals with a sensitive issue, the film director Gautham Ramachandran took good care and executed the film on a proper note. The setup created and the realistic approach adds depth to the proceedings.
Music by Govind Vasantha is one of the major highlights as his background score elevates all crucial episodes. While the cinematography work is good, the editing by Shafique Muhammed Ali is sharp. Production values for this limited budget film are nice.
Verdict: To wrap up, Gargi movie is a gut-wrenching story that needs to be addressed during the current times. Fantastic sound design and direction skills excel along with outstanding performances from the lead artists. The film has high chance to compete in the national awards panel. In box office prospects, Gargi might not get a rousing response theatrically but will sure get solid viewership once after OTT premieres.
