Kalki Sequel shooting update: The team behind Kalki 2898 AD announced long ago that the film would have a sequel. In a recent interview, the producers confirmed that 35% of the sequel’s shooting has already been completed, as some scenes were filmed while the sets for the first part were still intact. However, director Nag Ashwin needs more time to rebuild the elaborate sets for the second installment.
After the release of the first part, Nag Ashwin collected audience feedback and is now making key changes to the script. The shooting of Kalki 2 was initially planned for 2025 release but has been pushed to 2026. Prabhas also has other projects like Raja Saab, Fauji, and Spirit.
As things stand, the shooting for Kalki 2 is expected to begin in the second half of 2025. Nag Ashwin will need to finalize the script and coordinate the schedules of the star-studded cast, including Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone. Once their availability is confirmed, Prabhas’ dates will also be locked.
The film will be produced by Vyjayanthi Movies on a massive budget, and Nag Ashwin plans to retain his core technical team from the first part for the sequel.
