Story: In Hyderabad, a jewelry store faces a big problem when Rs. 200 crores worth of gold is stolen. The police think the famous thief Japan (Karthi) might be behind it. The Home Minister (KS Ravi Kumar) wants a quick solution. But when the police catch Japan, he says he didn’t do it. The main part of the movie is about finding out who really did it and seeing what Japan does next.
Positive Points: Karthi acting – Humorous dialogues – First Half Negative Points: Second Half – Story – screenplay

Technical Aspects: Director Raju Murugan doesn’t fully bring out Karthi’s acting talents, falling short in both directing and writing. On the bright side, GV Prakash Kumar’s music is a standout. The cinematography and production values are okay, but the editing needs improvement. The VFX is average, but the excellent dubbing makes it feel like watching a regular Telugu movie.
Verdict: In a nutshell, “Japan” is a slow but action-packed crime comedy drama. Karthi shines with funny lines and a witty performance, and the music stands out. However, the weak storyline and not-so-great screenplay lessen the overall impact. One time watch or You might want to consider other movie options for the weekend.
