Love Story Telugu Movie Review
Starring: Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi, Easwari Rao, Rajiv Kanakala, Uttej, Devayani
Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s emotional drama, Love Story has been carrying good buzz among the audience. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s check how it is Love Story Review.
A lower caste guy named Revanth(Naga Chaitanya) dreams big to Zumba fitness dancer center in Hyderabad. For the same, he starts trials for the Bank loan and this is the time a girl named Mounika(Sai Pallavi) from a higher caste from a small town in Telangana lands in Hyderabad to get a software job. Eventually, friendship blooms between them and Mounika accept to join Revanth’s dancer group as the teacher. Later, Revanth and Mounika fall in love and how will they overcome all the hurdles in their journey? Forms the main USB of the film.
Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi did a fantastic job in the given characters. Both of them impresses with their performance and dialogue modulation in Telangana slang.
The chemistry between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi is adorable on the screen and brings a lot of depth to the proceedings. The struggle and the fight for the existence of Revanth and Mounika characters has been showcased in an authentic manner in the first half.
Rajiv Kanakala did a good job on the given negative shaded role. Other artists such as Devayani, Eswari Rao, Uttej are okay in their supporting roles.
After a passable first half with some lighter moments, the proceedings in the second half take a new turn as the love story between the lead pair shifts to the village. The core struggle in the love story has not been showcased in a gripping manner.
After the first half, there will be no scene or dialogue related to Revanth’s Jumba fitness centre which used to be his longtime dream. Instead of sidetracking the entire Revanth’s aim, a few Jumba fitness centre centric episodes in the second half would have brought depth to the proceedings.
The intense drama between Revanth and Mounika in the crucial second half has not been projected in a convincing way. Though Rajiv Kanakala did a good job, his character lacks proper establishment and fails to register among the audience. A few dragged scenes in the second half would have been skipped to make things more appealing.
Music by Pawan CH is good as all the songs are good to listen to on the screen but his background score lacks proper impact.
The cinematography by Vijay C Kumar is not up to the mark as the film lacks proper quality in the second half. Especially, the night mode shoots are not canned in an effective manner.
Editing work by Marthand K Venkatesh is okay but he could have focused on trimming close to 10 minutes in the second half.
Production values for this limited budget movie are good.
In an overview, Love Story is a mature love story that explores the sensibilities and the caste problems in the love story. Though Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi did an outstanding job, the proceedings in the second half would have been dealt in a nice manner for unanimous applause from the audience. We suggest to keep a check your expectations and watch the film.
