The makers of Mani Ratnam’s much-anticipated film, Ponniyin Selvan, are planning to resume the film’s shooting in Sri Lanka, next month. Last year, Mani Ratnam had announced that he will begin working on his dream project, Ponniyin Selvan, with Vikram and Jayam Ravi in the lead roles.
Ponniyin Selvan, went on floors in Thailand in December last year and wrapped up the first schedule in January this year. Since then the film has been put on hold temporarily due to COVID-19. Now, we hear from sources that Ponniyin Selvan will be the first big Tamil film to resume shoot amid the pandemic.
An official announcement regarding the film’s schedule will be made in the coming days. Ponniyin Selvan has been Mani Ratnam’s dream project for several years. The film is based on the Tamil literary novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy.
