The story centers, around Antony and Jackie who share a bond as members of an organization. Unfortunately tragedy strikes when Antony passes away. However Jackie steps up. Raises Antonys son, Mark as his own. Determined to honor his mothers memory Mark chooses to pursue a life as a mechanic.
Despite his efforts Mark harbors resentment towards his father.. Everything takes a turn when Mark stumbles upon a mysterious phone with the power to manipulate time. Through conversations with his parents using this device shocking truths about their past are unveiled. These revelations include the return of Antony, from death and the circumstances surrounding Jackies demise. This forms the foundation of the story.
Performances: SJ Suryah is widely recognized for his acting skills, in the movie. His ability to portray roles with comedic timing leaves a lasting impact, on the audience. Vishals transformation and his portrayal of contrasting characters showcase his versatility as an actor. Sunil and Abhinaya also deliver performances that captivate viewers. Selva Raghavan in the role of the scientist delivers a performance. However some viewers may find Ritu Varmas character confusing as it lacks significance and tends to fade into the background.

Technical Aspects: G.V. Prakash’s songs in the film are not impressive, but the background score is good and matches the film’s tone. The production design is impressive, effectively showcasing the bygone era. The cinematography by Abhinandan Ramanujam complements the production design. Director Adhik Ravichandran did a decent job with the film, especially with the sci-fi element, creating his own rules. However, more attention could have been given to the songs to improve the overall quality.
Verdict: The first half of the movie “Mark Anthony” is enjoyable, with impressive performances from SJ Suryah and Vishal, and some funny moments. However, the second half becomes confusing and might leave the audience puzzled. It is advised not to have high expectations for Suryah’s performance in the latter half as the film’s quality dips during that time. If you could overlook these flaws, the movie ends up being a timepass watch.
