Tollywood’s dashing director Puri Jagannadh has carved a unique niche for himself with his distinctive storytelling and mass appeal. Once upon a time, Puri’s films were synonymous with crowd-pulling blockbusters, with audiences lining up outside theaters in anticipation. However, in recent years, his movies have been plagued by a series of flops, leaving fans eagerly waiting for a solid comeback from the maverick filmmaker.
Interestingly, Puri had earlier aspired to direct Megastar Chiranjeevi’s landmark 150th film. For this, he even penned a story titled Auto Jaani. While the first half of the narrative impressed Chiranjeevi, the second half fell short of his expectations. Chiranjeevi suggested some changes to the script, but eventually, he chose to collaborate with director V.V. Vinayak for his 150th film, Khaidi No. 150.
Now, it seems Puri Jagannadh has revisited the Auto Jaani script and is reportedly working on tweaking it to suit the current sensibilities. With Chiranjeevi announcing back-to-back projects, Puri appears determined to revive his dream project with the Megastar. Sources suggest that Puri is keen on directing Auto Jaani with Chiranjeevi and aims to make it his big comeback.
Whether these speculations hold any truth remains to be seen, but fans are undoubtedly excited about the possibility of Puri teaming up with Chiranjeevi for what could be a blockbuster collaboration. Only time will tell if this long-pending project finally sees the light of day.
