Director Bobby’s multi-starrer ‘Venky Mama’ with Venkatesh, Naga Chaitanya, Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput is all set to hit screens on December 13.
In the film, Raashi Khanna is paired opposite Naga Chaitanya and talking about how the role came to her, she said, “I was shooting for Ayogya in Pondicherry and out of the blue, Suresh Babu garu called my manager, telling him he wanted to cast me for Venky Mama. I flew down after shoot because I was looking forward to working with Chay. I shared screen-space with him in Manam but the shoot was only for a day. I always wanted to do an intense love story with him but this film was an immediate yes because Venkatesh and Chay will surely be great together on-screen.”
Raashi states that she was already in her comfort space with Bobby, thanks to working with him in ‘Jai Lava Kusa’. “In Venky Mama I will mostly be present in the first half because the second half will be an emotional journey between the mama-alludu,” she says, adding, “Both Chay and Venkatesh sir are so gentleman-ly and down-to-earth.” In the film, Raashi will play the role of a filmmaker named Harika. “Harika comes from town to a city and is stuck in a weird situation. There’s a lot of situational comedy and I enjoyed shooting for the film. It was a learning experience to work for this film.”
Apart from ‘Venky Mama’, Raashi Khanna is also gearing up for the release of ‘Prati Roju Pandaage’ this month and ‘World Famous Lover’ later on. “I shot for both films at the same time and it was so difficult because my character in WFL is very intense and demanded a lot from me. My character in Prati Roju Pandaage is very bubbly and completely unlike me,” she says, adding, “But my character in WFL is the toughest I’ve done so far. I also sang a song for a film, which will be revealed later on.”
