The Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts has announced a new list of 398 members for this year, which includes international stars like Taylor Swift and Ke Huy Qwan, as well as several Indian personalities such as NTR Jr, Ram Charan, MM Keeravani, Chandrabose, Karan Johar, and others.
The Academy expressed pride in welcoming these artists and professionals, highlighting their talent and contributions to the arts and sciences of motion pictures. This year, the number of new members is reduced compared to previous years, as the Academy is focusing on increasing the representation of women and non-white members.
Being a member of the Academy grants voting rights at future Oscars, and if all the invited individuals accept this year’s invitation, the total membership will rise to 10,817, with 9,375 eligible to vote.
