Even as the horrific ‘Disha’ incident continues to spark outrage across the country, objectionable posts by a few individuals on social media on the incident have triggered a storm. While a Nizamabad youth has been arrested for his vulgar comments, offensive posts by a filmmaker named Daniel Shravan justifying the rape has caused an uproar among social media circles. While the internet explosion has many advantages in the country, there is a section of netizens who are misusing it by posting abusive comments on women especially celebrities.
To tackle this highly-concerning issue, Police have already announced cyber bullying as a severe crime. According to reports, if any netizen makes abusive comments on an actress or any woman, a case will be registered and the culprit shall be arrested immediately. Cops have also advised women to not hesitate in reporting any kind of social media discomfort by abusers and trollers.
Samantha Akkineni was among the first celebrities to share the concerned information on her Twitter handle thereby sending a stern warning to the perpetrators of the consequences.
