Sita Ramam Telugu Movie Review:
Director Hanu Raghavapudi’s period love story, Sita Ramam starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur as the lead pair is released today. Let’s analyse it.
Story:
Set in 1980 time period, Afreen( Rashmika Mandanna) starts her search of Sita to deliver a letter written by Ram. Later, the scene shifts to Lieutenant Ram ( Dulquer Salmaan) from Madras regiment and his love story with Sita Mahalakshmi ( Mrunal Thakur). How the love blooms between Ram and Sita? What kind of twists and turns will it undergo further? What is the suspense and mysterious aspect? How is Afreen’s character interlinking with the story, forms the key aspect of the film.
Merits:
Undoubtedly, the lead pair, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur fitted perfectly as the lead pair. The adorable chemistry between the lead pair is presented in a beautiful manner.
As expected, Dulquer Salmaan delivered a good performance but the surprise package is definitely Mrunal Thakur. Though the film is her first South project, the kind of commitment she put in for the role by understanding the character is amazing and brings depth to the proceedings. In one word, the lead pair carried the film on their shoulders with effortless screen presence.
While Rashmika is impressive in the given crucial role, Tharun Bhascker is okay in his role. Sumanth gets a twisted character and his part decently. Noted actors such as Prakash Raj, Gautam Menon are okay in their cameo roles.Vennela Kishore’s comic track evokes decent fun.
Demerits:
Except for the runtime, the film has nothing much negative shaded to mention here. But the initial portions of the first half would have been racy but run on a slow note.
A few portions in the second half too has a slow narrative.
Technical Crew:
Music and photography work are major assets for the film. While the music by Vishal Chandrashekhar is one of the major highlights of the film both songs and background score wise, the visuals provided by PS Vinod and Shreyaas Krishna are amazing.
Editing part is decent enough but considering the lengthy runtime close to ten minutes would have been trimmed. Production values for this Vyjayanthi Movies banner cinema are lavish. The production design work and the artwork teams did good job.
Last but not least, director Hanu Raghavapudi did his part perfectly. He made sure to avoid the mistakes done in the previous films and executed Sita Ramam on a good note.
Verdict:
To wrap up, Sita Ramam is a well made period drama that has outstanding chemistry between the lead pair. Director Hanu Made sure that the suspense elements and twists are unveiled at right moment in the narrative. Sita Ram is amazing love drama that has an emotional feel in it and can be watched with entire family during this weekend.
