The Paradise, a period action drama starring Nani and directed by Srikanth Odela, is all set to entertain audiences on OTT. Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, while Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Sonali Kulkarni and others play key roles. The film recently arrived in theatres and impressed mass audiences. Now, it is ready for its digital premiere.
The Paradise film will start streaming on the popular OTT platform Netflix from October 22. Netflix officially announced the release date by sharing a new poster. The movie will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
The Paradise OTT Version Gets a Shorter Runtime
Compared to its theatrical version, The Paradise will have a shorter runtime on OTT. While the theatrical version ran for 2 hours and 54 minutes, the Netflix version will have a runtime of just 2 hours and 30 minutes. This means approximately 24 minutes of footage has been cut.
Usually, filmmakers add scenes that could not be included in the theatrical version to give OTT audiences an extended experience. However, it is noteworthy that the runtime of The Paradise has been reduced instead.
According to reports, scenes featuring excessive violence and sequences that affected the pace of the story have been removed. The makers reportedly believe that these changes will make the film more suitable for family audiences as well.
What Is the Story of The Paradise?
The Savarulu are a community of 7,000 people who travelled nearly 2,000 kilometres before settling near Paradise. They have no recognition or identity in society. For generations, Shikanja Malik (Mohan Babu) and his family have looked down upon and oppressed the Savarulu.
Sammakka (Sonali Kulkarni), who gives birth to twin boys amid Malik’s torture, hopes that her son Jadal (Nani) will eventually become the leader of the Savarulu and earn recognition for his community.
However, Jadal has little affection for his mother. Does he eventually become the leader of the Savarulu? Does he succeed in securing recognition for his people? Why was he given the name Jadal? Why did he go to prison at such a young age, and what does he do after returning?
The story also explores the identity of Subbu (Kayadu Lohar), the woman who falls in love with Jadal. The answers to these questions form the central plot of The Paradise.
