Performances: Virupaksha is set good hype from its announcing. Sai Dharam Tej is looks heavy. When he is filmed in running shots, which may have been decreased, he is very awkward. Over all Sai is good at his character. Samyuktha Menon is one of the major asset to the movie. Her performance is brilliant and good support to Sai.
Love secerns in between lead actress good. Rest of the main cast – Sunil, Rajeev kanakala, Ajay, Bhramaji, Sai Chand did their part well.
Verdict: Director Karthik Varma Dandu did his part well, writing story line and dialogues. Virupaksha latches on right at the opening. Beginning with the sequence involving the black magic, the rest of the proceedings and the audience’s expectations are perfectly set.
Decent first half, Despite a boring love track, the storyline is interesting and picks up well from the pre-interval moment with a few chilling moments.
Excellent background music and sound design are used. B The work of Ajneesh Loknath is excellent. Even mundane moments are elevated by his work; also, the sound design (Raja Krishnan) greatly contributes to keeping the overall atmosphere spooky.
The main plot line surrounding the murders and determining their cause is where the action is. They are prepared well and have enough meat to keep the interest. The interval bang, which makes one eagerly anticipate the second half, is also skillfully executed.
Over all Virupaksha is interesting storyline with some spine chilling moments and nice twists. Though the love track in the 1st half is boring and the pace is uneven in parts, the screenplay engages for the most part and works out. Anyone who enjoys supernatural mystery thrillers can see the film in theatres.
