Good news for the fans of Team India World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh. Information that he has decided to withdraw his retirement. It is learned that he is inclined to play T20 cricket for Punjab in domestic cricket rather than international. Sources said BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had sent an email to Secretary Jay Shaw seeking permission for his return.
It has been a year and a half since Yuvraj Singh said goodbye to cricket. During this time he played in foreign T20 leagues. However, he said he would play competitive cricket for fun. For some years he has been guiding Shubhman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Prabhasimran Singh, and Anmolpreet Singh on behalf of the Punjab community at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. In this sequence, he taught himself how to hold the bat and play shots in the nets. Then it seemed to Yuvraj that he was hitting the ball wonderfully. Punjab Secretary Puneet Bali met him while doing the same in another camp. It is learned that the farewell was asked to be withdrawn. After thinking about it for a few weeks, Yuvi sent an email to the BCCI asking for permission. It is noteworthy that Yuvraj Singh himself said this in a conversation with ‘Cricket Buzz’.
‘It’s great to spend time with young people and teach them different things in terms of play. I showed them some shots in the nets. I surprised myself by hitting the ball wonderfully. I’m been batting for a long time already. I came to the off-season camp on behalf of Punjab for two months. I played practice matches with youngsters. I took the runs. Then Punjab Secretary Puneet Bali approached me and asked me to consider withdrawing my farewell, ”Yuvraj said.
‘Didn’t seem like it at first but later thought I liked the proposal. Inspired to offer championships to Punjab. Bhajji, I also won a lot differently. But what the two could not do together for Punjab. The same prompted me to make the decision. I will only play T20s if I get permission. Let’s see what happens, ”said Yuvi.
