One of the latest films to hit theaters this week is ‘Epic’, directed by Aditya Haasan and starring baby couple Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya. Let’s take a look at the film in our review.
EPIC STORY:
Chandra Shekhar (Sivaji), a government teacher from Wanaparthy, Telangana, is fed up with his wife Shobharani (Vasuki) and her younger son Aditya (Anand Deverakonda) saying that he will make films and become a director, and he sends his son to the UK, believing that he will be financially as well as academically supported. After they send their son there with high hopes, how does his life turn when Kadali (Vaishnavi Chaitanya) enters the life of the innocent boy Aditya? Has he reached his goal or not? What is the reason for her coming into his life? Will Aditya choose his personal happiness? Or will he stand up for his family? This semester’s real story is.
ANALYSIS :
Anand brings innocence and naturalness to his character, while Vaishnavi also performs well. Hesham Abdul Wahab’s background score adds freshness, and Sancharame is the standout song.
The major problem is the writing. Most scenes revolve around conversations between the lead pair, phone calls and repeated discussions about their relationship. The second half becomes slow, and Kadali’s character development feels inconsistent.
The climax is the biggest drawback, as it doesn’t provide proper emotional closure and feels directionless. Despite a few good dialogues and youthful moments, Epic fails to sustain the interest created in the beginning.

VERDICT:
Overall, there are good moments here and there in this ‘Epic’. There are emotions in some family scenes, as well as fun scenes. The lead pair also did well in this. But the story should have been a little better. So with this, the movie impresses here and there.
