Harsh Roshan, who impressed audiences with Court, has been appearing in a series of teenage love stories. After disappointing with Band Melaam, he is now back with Thella Kaagitham. Directed by debutant Ramesh Bandreddy, the film hit theatres today.

Thella Kaagitham Story:

Ramu (Harsh Roshan) loses his parents at a young age and grows up under the care of his elder brother and sister-in-law. While studying in Class 10, he falls in love with his classmate Asha (Nakshatra), and she also loves him. Though Ramu genuinely loves Asha, he gets influenced by his uncle and goes off track. Asha also loses control because of her love for Ramu. The two take a wrong step, which deeply affects their lives. The rest of the story is about the consequences they face and whether their love story gets a happy ending.

Positive Points:

  • Good chemistry between Harsh Roshan and Nakshatra.
  • Nakshatra delivers a strong performance.
  • Two songs are appealing.
  • Good visuals by K.V. Guhan.
  • The film has a relevant message.

Negative Points

  • Screenplay is slow and stretched.
  • Many scenes feel repetitive.
  • Some scenes feel unrealistic.
  • Harsh Roshan’s character becomes irritating.
  • The narration lacks impact.
  • Climax fails to improve the overall experience.

Technical Aspects

Technically, Thella Kaagitham is just okay. Two of Vijay Bulganin’s songs are appealing, while the background score is ordinary. K.V. Guhan’s visuals are good, and the production values are adequate for the film. Nandu’s script does not offer anything particularly special. Though the intended message is good, the way it is presented is not effective. Director Ramesh Bandreddy fails to improve the weak script through his taking.

Verdict

Thella Kaagitham is an average teenage love story. It starts with promise and has a good message, but the weak and stretched-out narration fails to create the desired impact.

Bottomline: Disappointing
