The difficulties producers face in film production, budget allocation, and adjusting actors’ remuneration are constantly discussed in Tollywood. In this context, the comments made by young Tollywood producer Naga Vamsi at the recent `Epic` movie promotional event have become interesting in Film Nagar circles.
He jokingly commented that if he ever acts as a hero, Deverakonda’s father should produce that film. He may have joked that if heroes and their families want to understand the financial struggle and pressure a producer faces while making a film, the heroes’ fathers should become producers themselves. Nagavamsi spoke spontaneously in a playful manner during a chat with anchor Suma.
Currently, producer Naga Vamsi is bringing the film `EPIC – First Semester`, directed by actor Aditya and starring Anand Deverakonda, to the audience. He is working hard to ensure that the film’s release goes smoothly without any problems. From sending overseas copies on time to allocating theaters and completing business deals, he is closely negotiating everything.
Naga Vamsi, speaking on stage as part of the film’s promotions, said that he would only act as a hero if Vijay Deverakonda and Anand Deverakonda’s father Govardhan Rao produced the film. The funny part on stage was that he said that he would only act as a hero if Govardhan Rao garu produced the film.
In fact, the film production industry is nothing new to the Deverakonda family. Vijay Deverakonda’s father, Govardhan Rao, has experience directing television serials and ad films. He came to Hyderabad from Tummanpet in Mahabubnagar district and settled in the film industry. He is now very happy that his sons Vijay and Anand are successful as heroes.
The Deverakonda brothers are also making films under their own banner. They are taking a back seat in their production work and guiding them. So he knows the challenges of the production business very well. Naga Vamsi’s comments, although laughable, underscore how much effort it takes to establish oneself as a producer in the industry.
